Image
Shirina Carstens is a well recognized speaker and humanitarian based in London, UK who has travelled around the world giving talks, coaching and inspiring others with her testimony and life experiences. To kick start our "She Reformed meets" series for this blog, Chloe had the opportunity to talk to Shirina regarding her work and to find out a little bit more about her! Hey Shirina, thanks so much for taking the time out your schedule to talk to us! First things first: How did you get your idea or concept for your movement? So initially my movement came about from a previous business I ran (Beauty from within) which was a theatre company that focus on doing dramas based on the taboo subjects that we as humans hide from such as suicide, self worth etc. During this time I would host the event, from here when we ended people would ask me to speak at their events sharing my story as I did at my own event. From here I kind of fell into speaking literally before I knew

"DOUBLE PORTION" | ISAIAH 61

I was recently going through the book of Isaiah and was reading through chapter 61 when this verse in particular spoke to me: "Instead of your [former] shame you will have a [ d ] double portion ; And instead of humiliation your people will shout for joy over their portion. Therefore in their land they will possess double [what they had forfeited]; Everlasting joy will be theirs." ~ Isaiah 61:7 AMP This verse caused me to reflect on How God not only sees us, but what He desires for us. He doesn't see us how we see ourselves. We have all made mistakes. There may be things in our past/actions we took that we are not proud of, or wish we could erase. However, here is the remarkable, extraordinary, supernatural thing about God: He still sees us with love. He sees us where we are ~ in the midst of our brokenness, in the midst of our shame, fear and failures. And He meets us there. He is more than able and capable to take our broken pieces,
