New year, month and new list of books for me to go through! I always love digging into a new book at the start of a new month, and I have a couple of good ones to share!  The books I'm sharing with you today are both from Bishop TD Jakes (If you do not know who he is please search his teachings on YouTube, he is a gifted speaker as well as writer who will leave you with gold pieces of wisdom and make you reflect on your life!) Maximize the moment by TD Jakes  If like me, you have a habit of getting stuck in the past not being able to focus on the present then you will be blessed with the contents of this book. In every chapter there is something given for the reader to reflect on and gives wisdom of how to get unstuck from the past in order to make the most of the present. In THE CONFIDENT MOM, Joyce Meyer helps rescue moms from insecurity by teaching them how to trust in the Father who is bigger than the problems they're facing. She digs down to the real foundation of a mother's confidence, the assurance that she is truly loved by God, and provides busy moms with daily, practical ways to receive His love. Well I have just so happened to come across a golden nugget of a book from Joyce! And it has been such a joy to read as I have embarked on this new journey into motherhood. These pages are entwined with scripture and stories to encourage us mums who face all sorts of challenges and obstacles in our every day lives. As always I love Joyce's straightforward no nonsense approach to getting a message or point from scripture across.  There is something in this book for anyone even if you have kids who are grown and living outside of homes of if your bubba is a few days old! A dramatic, compelling memoir full of twists and turns, Street God delves deep into a world from which few ever emerge — and shows how a single spark of light can illuminate even the darkest existence In today's book chat I wanted to share Street God with you, as I am not sure how popular this read is being published a few years ago however was inspiring and one I was glad I picked up. If you want to read about a man's life who got transformed by God's grace and mercy - then this should be one for you to consider. Dimas was a young man who went from being a drug lord to being a preacher going into the dangerous areas to minister, going back to where he used to be a part of. Disclaimer: this book can be a tough read at times so please consider this. The beginning of the book does go into a lot of detail of how Dimas was lured into this lifestyle due to the temptation of money, respect and power.
