1.So first things first: Please introduce
yourself!
My name is Tanya Chand, I am the co-founder of a ministry
called Walking Like Jesus. I live with my husband and daughter in Bedfordshire.
2.
Can
you share how you personally encountered Jesus?
It was at the age of thirteen, that I attempted to take
my own life. My dad had left me before I was born, and my mum was heavily depressed.
Feeling unloved and unwanted, I felt I had nothing to live for. So, I took a
life-threatening overdose which left me on a life support machine and in a coma
for three days. Just before the Doctor's turned the life support off, I made a
miraculous response.
I survived the overdose and was placed into the care system with Christian Foster Parents. It was during those years in Foster Care that I gave my life to Christ and at the age of 21, I graduated from an Assemblies of God Bible School in London. Shortly after I met my husband, Daniel and I joined him in full-time ministry.

3.
What
motivated you and your husband to start the movement Walking Like Jesus?
Our ministry was birthed out of my husband's radical
conversion in 2013. I had a prophetic dream/vision that my husband to-be was an
Evangelist and I was to come alongside him and support him in the ministry.
Collectively we both minister, travel across the globe and see multitudes
coming to Christ.
4.
What
is one of your favourite aspects of helping to lead this movement?
Meeting different people and seeing so many diverse
cultures, nationalities and ages of people who love Jesus. It’s amazing to see
the body of Christ come together to love each other, worship and serve the
Lord.
5.
What
challenges have you faced as you pursued your God calling and how did/how are
you overcoming it?
Compromise. There were times when I felt like God wasn't
going to pull through for me and I was tempted to take things into my own hands,
whether it be trusting God for a spouse or doubting the call on my life. I had
to persevere through some lonely, challenging and at times, bleak seasons.
Nonetheless, I held on to His promises and the word of God, and here I am, now
walking in my destiny.
6.
Who
has been your greatest inspiration?
To say greatest would be limiting. I have a few
inspirational people who have impacted me in some way or another throughout my
life. Joyce Meyer has been a major inspiration by pioneering as a woman in
ministry. Closer to home, I would say my husband, Daniel. He is a great man of
God, an amazing father and a loving spouse. He truly lives what he preaches.
7.
Tell
us a bit about your book BRAVE, how did it come about and what can we expect to
read?
It's based on my life story of how I came to faith. My
book is filled with such rawness and hope for those who may feel as though they
are going through life alone and misunderstood. God took me from a place of rejection,
abandonment and loneliness and turned me into a wife, mother, speaker and
author, with my testimony reaching over 250,000 people.
8.
What
would your advice be for a sister who is unsure of what they have been called
by God to do?
Read the word. I say, "If you know His word, you'll
know His will".
This is a great navigator when the Holy Spirit is trying to guide you.
Secondly, serve. When serving you discover giftings, weaknesses and strengths. Work on what needs working and develop your giftings.
Accept correction and remain humble. Seek Him with all of your heart, and He will be found by you. Jeremiah 29:11-13 (my life scriptures).
