KNOWING HIM: PROMISE KEEPER

Dear reader,

Being honest with you here, there have been many times in my life where I made promises that I didn't see through or keep, as well as hearing and receiving promises from others then turn out to be disappointed when they fell through.
When promises are broken, so often is our faith and trust in the person also.

One thing I learned with God however - is that He is not like what we experience on earth, He cannot be compared to how people have treated us or not treated us.

God does NOT and has never went back on His word.
What comfort and encouragement we can take from that.

"As the rain and the snow come down from heaven, and do not return to it without watering the earth and making it bud and flourish, so that it yields seed for the sower and bread for the eater, so is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it." (Isaiah 55:10-11)

We can be encouraged with His word - that what He will say will come to pass, He will accomplish the promises that He has made and words will not return to Him EMPTY.



Ok sure, we may not know HOW or WHEN God will fulfil His promises. But this is when trust steps in, when we have faith that surpasses all understanding and by knowing who He is as well as what He said will keep us firm in faith.

LEARNING FROM SEASONS: MALACHI 3:6

Hey sisters, Hope you're all enjoying the festivities that come with this time of year! Ok ok I have to admit, I'm such a winter baby. I'm all about the cooler weather, winter fashion, the aesthetic and of course CHRISTMAS. One thing I also love about this time of the year is the transition of season from winter to spring; flowers blossoming and the change in weather. It has always been a reminder to me of seasons of life. Life consists of so many seasons, some good and some more difficult. One thing we can be certain of however: Seasons change, the world is changing everyday but God NEVER changes. He is true to His word and His promises. He is the One that remains above all. “I, the Lord, do not change” (Malachi 3:6) He was mighty yesterday, is today and will be tomorrow. KNOWING HIM: DELIVERER

I just love reading about the different people in the bible that God delivered from all sorts of complex, difficult situations. For example, there was Paul and Silas who God delivered from prison (see Acts 16:23-26). There was also Daniel in the lion's den, whom God delivered from certain death by keeping the mouths of the lions shut! God also delivered David from afflictions; to be precise the mouth of the lion and the paw of a bear! (see 1 Samuel 17:37). These are just some of many stories that you can read about where God came through and brought them out the other side.  God is indeed a deliverer. Just like so many people in the bible, we will all face affliction at some point or another. Where we are hit with a brick wall and we think "now what?".
